When you think of summertime in Savannah what comes to mind?

And I’m not asking you to recall the numerous heat strokes, broken a/c units, obscene amounts of sweat and smelly people, or even just the Gnats. How about the endless hours spent behind horse carriages lugging tourists around, and please just try to forget the traffic on Tybee.

I want you to remember the amazing breezy nights spent on your back porch, sunny days on the golf courses, random day trips to the beaches, you and your favorite book, fun nights in City Market, then the day to follow watching Grease and Dirty Dancing on TBS at least 27 times, and your fabulous summer dress.

You know that one dress…you like the others hanging in your closet, but none compare to that perfect summer dress. It’s become your trustee…it’s been there while you’ve eaten the best molten cake at Chart House, then met those creepy guys at the club, oh yeah and then when you let it fall in love with it’s perfect mate…your shoes. So a lot of people always ask us…why so much for a pair of jeans? This question breaks my heart into a million little pieces! Let’s see past the price tag and take a trip down Practicality Lane.

1. Do you sneak a peak at your romp-shaker at least once every two days?

The 2 founder’s of 7 for All Mankind , started their company in 2000…they then brought in a man named Peter for financial reasons and in two years time the original founders of 7 filed a lawsuit against the evil Peter b/c he breached a contract.

The 2 founders then launched Citizens of Humanity in 2003 where they became infamous for they’re universal fit and consistent sizing. Unlike other designer brands, their waistband is not contoured, making it much more accommodating and less likely to produce “plumber’s crack.” Paige Adams -Geller became their fit model and continued to support her when she decided to launch her own line…

So basically if you like 7′s you’ll LOVE Citizens b/c it’s the original designers…and if you LOVE Citizens you’ll be stalking Paige Premium Denim!

After moving to Pooler, Georgia in February 2007, my husband and I were in search to start a new adventure. We had both previously owned businesses in the past and really felt that Pooler offered us a lot of potential. As a Fashion Merchandising /Retail Major from USC and having owned a bridal and formal wear store before, we decided we were ready to take on the challenge of offering both clothing and formal wear. We really wanted to fit a need for the area so we asked girls from all over Georgia and South Carolina where they got their formal wear? Many said there was nothing in Savannah, while others said they drove an hour or more to find that special dress. We then asked how they felt about having to drive all the way into downtown Savannah just to find designer denim, a cute day dress or special outfit? All replied that they hated the parking and hated having to fight traffic on Abercorn. Gene and I came up with a new concept store that fits all of the needs of ladies from all over the lower part of Georgia and South Carolina and now all over the United States, and we began what became Genealogy Bouitique and Formals. We are dedicated to bringing you the trendiest clothing, designer denim, and accessories that there is too offer. We also guarantee to have a formal wear or prom dress that will make you look beautiful and feel like a million dollars for your special night.

As for the name… Long story but we felt that the name Genealogy suited our store because we want you to always feel good about yourself and who you are. We are here for the long haul and we want generations to come to find themselves bringing in their daughters to find that special outfit or special dress just like they did! As our slogan goes….
