One school we are always drawn to is the awesome University of Alabama, and it is mainly because one of their unofficial colors (or should we say, patterns?) is the Fall-and-Winter loving HOUNDSTOOTH! Here at EverythingDresses.com, we totally have a girl crush on Lauren Conrad. If you didn’t know, she totally has a website that is all about BEAUTY! We often sneak over there to check out great tutorials and practice them in every day life – and in the office! This one was just too good not to share though. We allllll know all too well how easy lipstick wears off – despite it being marketed to last for 14 hours (or whatever!) Well, this is a tried and true celeb-tested method for a great way to make your lipstick last – and look flawless – for ages! Follow these quick 4 steps below to make sure you have a flawless make up look for prom, pageants, or just a night out with the girls. And don’t worry… this is TOTALLY kissable.

STEP ONE: Apply lipstick or a (matte) lip pencil over the entire lip. If your lip liner is a kohl based liner, do not use it for an entire lip fill as it gets chalky and dries out the lips natural moisture.

STEP TWO: Blot your lips with tissue. Fold it in half, put it in between your upper and lower lips, and then press down.

STEP THREE: Load up an eyeshadow blending brush with loose or pressed powder {translucent works best but any light color should work}. Then powder your entire lip area by pressing and swirling the brush across your lips until they are totally matte.

STEP FOUR: Apply another layer of lipstick. Using a lip brush helps with precision! AND DONE!

I have such a passion for bandage dresses, and if you love my blog, you will know it is not the first time I have written about these! As I like to call them, ‘the magic spandex dress’, or Bandage Dresses, as they are more commonly known, are totally amazing, and do WONDERS for your body. Seriously. Read on.

Why do I love these so much, you may ask? Well, to start, they are flattering, a perfect fit, and beyond comfortable – and honestly, that is just the tip of the iceberg! Eliminating the need for uncomfortable Spanx, the thick bands of comfy elastic form and smooth your figure in all the right ways. While I haven’t had any formal events to attend in the past couple of months, I did get a sneak peek at the Sherri Hill Fall 2012 line, which is what sparked this post. A stunning collection of dresses that feature everything under the formal wear rainbow, I totally fell in love with the “rock-star meets sweet girly girl” look that Sherri Hill gets down perfectly. She is getting to be known for her bandage dresses, though (which totally caught my eye!), and this season she has totally outdone herself. Perfect for anyone from the Junior at prom to the mom on a girls night out, these are beyond flattering statement dresses that will be fashionable for years to come. We all know the drill… who ISN’T forever searching for that perfect lip color? Well, if you are interested in getting a little crafty, check out this awesome post on DIY lipstain! Concerned about chemicals? Don’t be! This is 100% natural, made at home, and super easy! Got a new sundress you want to match your lip color to? This is the way, honey! Get that perfect “just-bitten” hint of color you are dying for.

INGREDIENTS: 3 Blackberries (bright berry color), 1 Raspberry (feminine pink color), 3 Pomegranate Seeds (vibrant red color), 1/2 teaspoon extra virgin olive oil, a small Bowl + Spoon (or mortar + pestle if you have them), Fork or Sifter to drain, and a small 5-gram Pot/Jar with screw top from any craft store or recycled from an old gloss!

STEP 1: Mash the blackberries and raspberry in the bowl thoroughly with the back of your spoon.

STEP 2: Add the pomegranate juice into the mixture by individually squeezing them between your thumb and index fingers over the bowl.

STEP 3: Pour the olive oil into the bowl and stir everything together with your spoon.

STEP 4: Finish by draining the liquid from the mixture into your small portable jar.
Refrigerate it for longevity. Have fun with it and even try different fruits like acai berries, strawberries, and cherries! You can play with the ratios of each fruit to customize your desired shade but REMEMBER: you’ll get the most color payoff from the blackberries.

We always have a touch of controversy surrounding our prom dresses on Dress Therapy. While most of the dresses we carry are your average (gorgeous!) prom dress styles, we do offer super short minis, mid-driff baring dresses, and dresses with extreme cut outs to round out the selection. While they aren’t a top selling item for us, we do get orders from the girls who want to show a little more skin at prom. We think? No biggie! Parents think? We’re the devil! Okay, it’s maybe not quite that extreme Well, while there may be a few mothers outraged at our selection, we were intrigued to get some reactions from this prom album we found. We thought we had seen it all, but apparently…. not. This is a group of prom-goers from Bulgaria, and honestly, we are not even sure they purchased their dresses! These must be the scandalous creation of some handmade crafts and cut outs on normal dresses. What do YOU think about these high school prom dresses? Appropriate, or have they gone too far? We run across so many crafty prom dresses, it is hard to pick our favorites. We love the scandalous, the unique, and the different, and this dress is no exception!
